Wonderful Sunny Day!

It is going to be a perfect day today....Art went to Victoria to put on wine and do some work for Royanne in her store and I have all day to do exactly what I want, I might not even get dressed, that went out the window, I have to go to the store.....making fruit crumble for desert tonight, fish chowder at Chuck and Shirley's. Shirley does make a great fish chowder. The park is quiet right now but I guess the weekend warriors will be showing up soon with all their little darlings. I will miss them as I will be working at Woofles Barking Boutique in Victoria, Sat. and Sun.....notice the little advertising plug.....Havoc is waiting to go walk the trails and chase squirrels.

Exciting times in Country Maples

Country Maples RV park where we spend our summer. This is Arizona row where we park, the best sites, except for the dust, speeders.

The corner store and the clubhouse. 100 Weekend Warriors invaded our peaceful existence and then by Monday all was back to normal.

Jeanette and I holding a jar of pepper jelly that we made this morning, ummmm good...then 6 of us watched Mama Mia on the big screen TV and ate popcorn. Does it get any better?

Sierra Powell was to arrive on May 20th but she was in a hurry to come into the world, 7 lbs 13 oz. mother Jessica is doing great and both her and Shane are very happy with the new arrival. A little sister for Brooke It was a whirl wind birth rush to hospital after water broke at 3 and baby Sierra arrived at 4:30. We heard her cry as Shane called while he was holding her, she was hunger, of course. I don't know if I can wait until November to see her.

Brooke is TWO today!

Mother's Day

All I want for Mother's Day is to spend it with you Royanne (daughter) and she arrived from Victoria with the nicest heartwarming card and a scrabble game. We had fun playing the game without the help of the online dictionary, ha ha. The beautiful tulips are from Shane (son) in Texas, he also called and we had a chance to say hi to Brooke, granddaughter. Art cooked turkey dinner and it was a fantastic day. Oh, by the way, I won the scrabble game, just in case anyone wanted to know. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family, have to stop now, tears are clouding my vision.

Granddaughter - Brooke

Oh my goodness, isn't she a sweetheart and there she is eating my favourite food. Yes, gramma learned to put pictures somewhere and now I can find them and post them, this is all thanks to my very smart and patient daughter, Royanne, I couldn't have done it without her. Yes, I did get dressed yesterday and went to Chemainus and bought a birthday card for Brooke, she will be two on May 15th and have to send it to San Antonio, Texas where she lives. We can hardly wait to see her in November.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Even though we are retired there is always something to do. Had a wonderful lunch in Nanaimo last week with Maurice and Gloria, and I came away with a bottle of my favourite Blackberry Wine, Maurice makes the best. Dr. and eye appointments were attended. Art caught a fish in Fuller Lake and we ate it at happy hour, very good. Morning coffee at the clubhouse has gone by the wayside as our hosts have to work now the camping season has started. Happy Hour and a fire on Sunday lasted for 3 hours and the rain did not deter us, just moved under a tree until it subsided, no wossies here, that includes 78 year old Izzy and 80 year old Fred. We had a mouse for 2 nights, keeping us awake, sounds like he is bowling over our heads....not there last night so hopefully he has moved on or better still, dead. Lazy day today, may not even get dressed.

Daughter knows all

Royanne (daughter) bought us a digital picture frame and I was having great difficulty in loading pictures from son's web page, facebook, etc. Royanne had the problem solved in 10 minutes, she is so smart and son the computer nerd said he would never be able to explain it to me. The SD card has room for 1000 pictures so this will keep me busy on a rainy day. Dan cooked us a wonderful meal before heading home from Victoria, his talents are not wasted on us. Not a nice drive home, dark and rain, we have become daylight drivers.
